Welcome to the Catholic Parishes of Our Lady & The Apostles, St Ambrose, and St Vincent de Paul

Welcome to our parish family in Stockport. Rooted in the rich traditions of the Roman Catholic faith and united in the love of Christ, we are a community of believers journeying together in faith, hope, and charity. Under the loving patronage of Our Lady and the guidance of St Vincent de Paul and St Ambrose, we seek to live out the Gospel through prayer, the sacraments, and service.

Fr. Martin Onuoha

“So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another” (Romans 12:5). You may be a lifelong Catholic, or someone wishing to return to the Catholic Church, or a person just starting out on the journey of seeking a spiritual home in the Catholic Church, we invite you all to walk with us. In the celebration of the Holy Mass, in acts of charity, and in the quiet moments of prayer which take place daily in our three parishes, may you always find the peace and presence of Christ.
We look forward to welcoming you in person to our parish family and growing together in God’s grace.

Adults who are interested in joining the Church follow a six-month course, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), culminating at the Easter Vigil Mass when they receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion, and are fully embraced as a member of the Catholic Church. You can find more information by clicking (here).

There are many different ways of praying and many different prayers. Praying The Rosary is an excellent way to contemplate certain key passages in The Bible and to meditate on events in the life of our Lord. We have a page (here) with handy videos to follow.
