The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP)

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) is active in the parishes of Our Lady and the Apostles, St Ambrose and St Vincent’s.
The SVP  was founded by Blessed Frederic Ozanam, a University student in Paris in 1833 and today is a worldwide society in over 140 countries.. 

Our society is named after Saint Vincent de Paul (1581 – 1660) who devoted his life to helping the underprivileged and needy and he  is the patron saint of Christian charity.  
Members regularly visit the sick, elderly, and lonely in their own homes, in hospital, and residential homes.  
We support families and migrants in need. We also support the SVP Holiday Camp for needy children (founded by members in Our Lady’s parish in 1932)

The SVP could not provide this valuable and essential service without the help, support, prayers and generous financial donations from the parish congregations.
Our SVP group meets fortnightly in Our Lady’s presbytery meeting room.
